Biography

Crea lives and has a workshop in Gulfport, Florida. A St. Petersburg Native, Crea graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture and an associates degree in Fine Arts. She is currently the owner of Artful Earthscapes, a landscape design firm based on place making, curated sanctuary, permaculture ethics and art.

Over the past 25 years Crea has created monumental scale art installations in public spaces, free-standing sculpture, hanging and wall-mounted art with many mediums, appearing in galleries and outdoor art exhibits and installations all around the world.

She is the founder of a nonprofit organization, Eat Be Grow. One of the organization's main projects for the past 8 years is the creation and maintenance of the Gulfport Food Forest located in Clymer Park. She has most recently launched the monthly 49th St. Growers and Makers Market.

Crea's dream is ecstatic peace of oracle proportion found in the union of art, ecology, spirit and the power of kindness.

You can currently find Crea's public artwork outside Red Feather Studios and Custom House Decor in Gulfport along with several premier curated gardens in Gulfport and St. Petersburg.

Artist statement

Nature is my Muse. I revel with the spirit of place that I find housed in fascinating natural elements. I am currently focused on working with clay, roots, trees, flora, metal, bone and stone. Wild things are certainly my guide.

Through art making I seek to find balance to the complex challenges I experience in this fast paced world where undeniable beauty emerges alongside greed and destruction of the earth.

I often find myself using broken bits of colored glass and tile in combination with upturned roots, I harvested from fallen trees, after major storms. I notice with my art work over time, that I am an illustrator with my sculptural forms. I love to tell an interesting story that captures the essence of what is, or was going on. I really like to carve clay to fashion the spirit of roots. I find great inspiration in the marriage of art and the wonderment of ecology. Lately, I see my work as a curious earth ministry. After all, the earth is continuously preaching potentiality, that calls and sparks my imagination.

The goal is to create artwork that makes connections. Sometimes intense, sharp and harsh interplays occur, which often invoke thought and emotion.

I aim to inspire and ultimately offer a sense of possibility to heal and grow.

As a multifaceted artist; with a focus on sculpture, 3D mosaic wall art and landscape design for more than two decades, l have cultivated a rich base of incredible experiences, from creating art both in the US and internationally.

My work displays in a variety of settings—from homes and gardens to healing arts centers and commercial and store fronts.
